Htc Desire Android Widgets

One of the major differences between iOS and Android represents the capacity of adding all kinds of Widgets which is possible on just about any Android based phone. But even more, due to the wonderful HTC Sense interface of the HTC Desire (which will be our object of focus for today) you have at your disposal a cool way to interact with your HTC while getting all the necessary information such as time, date, weather, or any other notifications by simply looking at the phone. Widgets provide fun and useful services by deploying information directly into your phone. Let’s check out some of the best Widgets we can find on the Google Play.

Besides the already awesome widgets you get from HTC Sense, you might also want to consider the Beautiful Widgets pack. This pack contains all kinds of widgets such as clock and weather widgets, others for Wi-Fi presence, 3G connectivity, even GPS or brightness. One of the coolest things about this app is the fact that they provide widgets for various screens of all sizes (therefore, in case you have a smartphone with a smaller screen, you can still enjoy the fun widgets from this pack). Not to mention that there are over 700 skins to pick from.

Fancy Widgets is another complete pack much similar to the Beautiful Widgets pack presented above. The Fancy Widgets pack also contains various widgets for your clock and weather, but in addition, these widgets also offer services for weather alerts, geo tagging, various themes and even integrated battery information within the clock widget.

Another difference between the Fancy and Beautiful Widgets is that while the Beautiful Widget pack costs 2.71 bucks, the Fancy Widgets pack is free of charge.

If you want something a bit more “serious” then you might want to get the Android Pro Widgets pack. This one, apart from the two above contains various widgets that provide even more interaction. For example you get a calendar widget that also comes with an agenda. The Facebook widget also comes with Timeline. You also get a People widget and a Bookmarks widget. These might look very much alike the ones provided by the HTC Sense user interface but they are quite different.

The SiMi Folder Widget is an organizing widget which grants you quick access to your phone’s folders. When in a hurry and you want to gain access to a file quickly, there is nothing better than having all your folders displayed for you. This little widget also comes for free.

Since we’re talking organization, you might want to look at the Organizer Widget which displays in chronological order, all your received or sent calls / sms.

Motorola Android Phone

I must admit that I am a fan of smartphones. I find them pretty interesting gadgets that are both useful and fun to be around. If you agree, I am sure you are also interested in the brands that periodically release new models on the market. One of the high rated smartphone brands that always manage to catch my attention is Motorola. Here are a few of the smartphones that make this brand worthy of my time, attention and money.

I need to first mention the Motorola Razr Maxx because I think you will find it impossible to not be impressed by the battery life it ensures. What’s even better is that the higher capacity battery included in the design doesn’t lead to unacceptable weight or thickness. The Maxx version of the Motorola Razr smartphone manages to stay almost as thin and light as its predecessor, measuring 130.7 x 68.9 x 9mm and weighing 145g. I think you will also find useful the 4.3-inch display put at user disposal that supports a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The performance chapter is not unimpressive either because the core of the smartphone is a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and the PowerVR SGX540 GPU. You will also enjoy the possibility to expand the storage area by using microSD cards of up to 32GB. I also recommend the camera quality of the smartphone, ensured by a 1.3MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera that can support 1080p video recording and comes equipped with autofocus, LEF flash and an impressive number of advanced settings. The last thing that I want to mention is the news that 21 hours and 30 minutes of use are ensured by a full charge.

My other “love” is the Droid 4 XT894 because it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard that’s sometimes preferable to the on-screen keyboard that most modern smartphones seem to focus on. It’s true that the price you will have to pay for the pleasure of using such a keyboard is the thickness of 12.7mm and the weight of 178.9g, but if you want to write SMS messages and emails in the blink of an eye, the Droid 4 is the type of smartphone that can actually deliver the support necessary. In addition, you can at any time hide the physical keyboard and resume the typing on the on-screen keyboard put at disposal that has enough room to deliver large keys, especially in landscape mode. That’s because the display measures 4.0 inches and supports a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Impressive, isn’t it?

Android HTC Incredible Versus HTC One

Two smartphones like the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE and the HTC One S make you think twice when it comes to making a smartphone purchase. The first smartphone is expected to be soon released on the market while the second one can be already bought. I’ve compared their features and here’s what I found.

HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (Source: img.tgdaily.com)

HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (Source: img.tgdaily.com)

As far as the design goes, these two smartphones are good looking devices. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE is smaller and heavier than the One S measuring 121.9 x 61 x 11.7 and weighing 132 grams. On the other hand, the HTC One S measures 130.9 x 65 x 7.8mm and weighs only 119.5 grams. Both devices offer gorgeous touchscreens, but of different sizes. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE hosts on the front face a 4-inch S-LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels while the One S comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen and the same resolution.

The hardware department is represented by powerful processors, so you will have the chance to enjoy an excellent user experience on both smartphones. The HTC One S is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. On the other hand, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, but with microSD card support which lacks on the One S. Regarding the operating system, you should know that both phones are Android devices that run on Android 4.0 with the HTC Sense UI. On both smartphones you will find plenty of advanced features including TV-out, SNS integration, document viewer/editor and a few preinstalled Google apps.

I can’t forget about the cameras available on these high end devices. The HTC One S is equipped with a VGA front facing camera designed for video calls and an 8MP rear camera which features LED flash, geo-tagging and 1080p video recording capabilities. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE comes with a 1.3MP front facing camera with 720p recording capabilities and an 8MP rear camera equipped with advanced camera settings and 1080p video recording capabilities. You will be able to save your multimedia files on the memory available or on microSD cards (on the Droid Incredible 4G) and share them with your friends via email and social networks.

Connectivity is well represented on both high end devices. You will be able to use Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, HTML with Adobe Flash and 3G. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE also offers 4G speeds while the HTC One S supports EDGE and GPRS which lack on the Droid Incredible. Both smartphones offer advanced features and excellent performance, so in the end only your opinion matters.

Shopsavvy For Motorola Android

One of the apps that you should make available on your Motorola Android is ShopSavvy. This app will help you shop smart and take advantage of the best deals of the market because it’s built to be a powerful shopping tool that can fit inside your pocket and can be used on the go.

Shopsavvy For Motorola Android (Source: images.brighthub.com)

Shopsavvy For Motorola Android (Source: images.brighthub.com)

The main advantage that this Android app brings along is the possibility to use it for comparing the local and web prices for a certain product. The app is also able to scan bar codes and allow you to create wish lists that are then used to alert you on time of the current offers that you are actually interested in. ShopSavvy is also trained to store search history and help you share deals with your friends. On the list of cons I must mention the poor performance of the app’s scanning in low lighting, it inability to find groceries and small local stores, the lack of support for nonstandard bar codes and the limited results it often retrieves. You will even notice that certain products lack from its database.

Not that you know the good and the bad, let’s see what this app is actually able to do for you after you download it for free from the Android Market and you install it on your Motorola Android. In essence, ShopSavvy is a comparison shopping tool that you can use to find the best deals on the products of interest. What you have to enter in order to launch searches is the name of the product via the phones keyboard or its barcode that you can scan using the phone’s camera. After you launch a product search, the app starts looking for the best deals available and retrieves a list of prices while highlighting the cheapest local and online price. You also get details meant to help you get in contact with the deal’s provider. For example in the case of local products you get map directions, links to store websites and even phone numbers. On the other hand, the online deals are accompanied by links to the purchase page and links that allow you to automatically share the news with your friends via Facebook and Twitter.

What you should also know about the Android ShopSavvy is that it’s not all about prices. It’s also designed to retrieve product reviews about the items of interest so that you can decide if it’s worth making the investment or not. In the same time you can tell the app that you are interested in targeting a certain product and getting a price alert the moment the price drops under a certain value. Pretty exciting, isn’t it?

Purchasing an Android smartphone can be frustrating because of the wide variety of models and brands available on the market. If you manage to figure out what you want from your high end device, pick one of the carriers available and choose a brand you will find the acquisition process quite fun. I’ve selected only a few T-Mobile Android smartphones in order to show you what to expect from the various carriers available on the market.

The Samsung Dart is a desirable option for any Android smartphone fan. It can be yours for free if you agree to sign a two-year contract with T-Mobile. This smartphone comes with rounded corners and perfect dimensions that make it comfortable to hold in hand. The front surface of the phone hosts a 3.14-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and touch-sensitive controls. The device is equipped with a 600MHz processor and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. The Dart is able to offer various advanced features such as organizer, document viewer, Google Maps, SNS integration and Swype. Another Android phone that I recommend you to buy from T-Mobile is myTouch Q available for $49.99 with a two-year contract. It measures 121 x 64 x 13mm and offers a 3.5-inch touchscreen and a spacious slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, myTouch Q delivers enough power for running Android 2.3 and offering an excellent user experience. Software To Track Android Samsung Phone Activity Tmobile Texts

Because of the popularity of Android smartphones, app developers are pretty interested in releasing apps that can be of service for various purposes. This theory explains the availability of software tools that you can use in order to track even the text messages sent and received from/on a T-Mobile Samsung smartphone powered by Android. If you are interested in such apps, you should check out the list below.

Software To Track Android Samsung Phone Activity Tmobile Texts (Source: fs01.androidpit.info)

A first example of software that you can use in order to track the text messages of a T-Mobile Samsung smartphone is SMS Box. This tool is designed to archive all the phone calls and text messages recorded on a certain Android smartphone and make them available in a web database that you are given access to. You can even use a free version, but you won’t be able to use it in stealth. So, if you want to keep the one you’re trying to monitor in the dark you should invest in the paid version that’s currently available in exchange for $27. You should choose this tool because it makes available a free version and because it is easy to install. What works against it, it’s first of all the limited feature set. Another downside is the lack of tech support.

Mobile Spy is another software tool that you should consider if you are interested in monitoring an Android Samsung smartphone. This tool will deliver you copies of the call logs and text messages saved on the targeted phone and will also give you access to the photos and video captured, the emails managed and the appointments saved in dedicated apps. You will even be able to track the GPS location of a smartphone of interest and follow it step by step. All this information will be accessible from a website on which you will have to create an account. The list of pros that are meant to convince you to use this software includes the compatibility of Mobile Spy with multiple platforms, the alerts it sends every time the addition of a new contact is detected, the wide variety of details it retrieves and the phone support offered. The downside is that the product is subscription based. Moreover, refunds occur only under special circumstances. At least the subscription covers the use of the software on three different phones.

Last but not least I want to mention MobileStealth, an app that comes with advanced features and in three different versions: Lite, Pro and Pro-X. What’s common for all three versions is support for gaining access to the monitored smartphone’s text messages. Another plus is the better online interface that makes available the details regarding the phone activity of interest.

HTC Touch Pro Android

The HTC Touch Pro is an impressive smartphone equipped with a powerful processor and advanced features. It looks just like its predecessor, the HTC Touch Diamond because it comes with a sleek face and rounded edges. The big difference between these two devices is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard available on the Touch Pro. This smartphone measures 4 x 2 x 0.7 inches and weighs around 5.3 ounces being pretty comfortable to hold in hand.

On the front surface of the phone you will notice a 2.8-inch touchscreen able to support 262,000 colors and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. At the bottom of the screen you will find a toolbar that allows you to scroll left to right and launch various apps. The display also comes with a built-in accelerometer that makes sure you can use the display in full screen mode while typing messages with the help of the QWERTY keyboard. The physical keyboard is revealed by sliding the screen to the right. This keyboard features large and well spaced buttons which allow you to type messages fast and with minimal mistakes. Under the screen you will find a navigation array while above it you will see a VGA front facing camera.

When it comes to the hardware department, I need to mention that the Touch Pro is powered by a 528MHz processor with 288MB of RAM. The operating system available on this smartphone is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the TouchFlo 3D UI. However, you now have the chance to install on this Windows phone the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system if you really want to enjoy this OS’s features. What I also need to mention is that this smartphone offers an address book limited only by the memory available, support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and WAP 2.0/ HTML browser. You will also be able to enjoy using Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, Adobe Reader, zip manager, notepad and task manager. Not to mention that you will be able to access POP3 and IMAP email accounts and use various instant messaging clients.

On this smartphone you will also discover a built-in media player that comes with a great user interface and supports various file formats. The 3.2MP camera is equipped with various editing options, a 4x zoom and video recording capabilities. Picture quality is a little disappointing because colors look a bit gray and washed-out. Regarding call quality, the HTC Touch Pro is able to offer good call quality with pretty loud and clear conversations and only little distortion and background noise. With a 1340mAh battery on board, this smartphone is able to offer around 4 hours of talk time and 406 hours of standby time.

How To Use Motorola Android Phone

After you purchase a Motorola smartphone, you will find yourself browsing its content for hours in a row because you will be interested in finding out what it can offer you. I’m sure you will figure out pretty fast how to add a new contact, set a ringtone or make a call, so I will focus on showing you how to use your Motorola Android phone for more advanced purposes such as video conferencing. So, if you’re past the stage of clumsy novice, you should take things to the next level and discover more about the capabilities of your smartphone.

If you are interested in video conferencing with the help of your Motorola Android, you will first have to install on it an app that’s designed for this purpose. I strongly recommend Skype because with its help you will be able to make even international calls over 3G or Wi-Fi. After you download this app from the Android Market and you install it on your smartphone, you need to take care of a few settings. The first thing that you will have to do after you launch the app for the first time is set up a Skype account if you don’t already have one. Once you’re in possession of a Skype account and password you will be able to login. In the next step you will be asked to sync your Skype contacts with the contacts saved on your smartphone. If you’re not interested in this step you can skip it, but you will still have to add a few contacts manually, if you want to easily call the people of interest. Then, you can take a look at the interface that’s not complicated at all. You will actually see four buttons: Contacts, Recent Call phones and Profile. Also available is the Settings menu that you can use in order to set up notifications or change IM options. That’s about everything you will find within the interface, so you won’t feel challenged by it.

Now that all the settings necessary are in place, you can focus on making calls. There are actually two types of calls that you can make: Skype-to-Skype calls that you can make for free and Skype-to-Phone calls that involve a certain fee per minute. For the first type of call you will have to visit the Contacts list, tap the icon available in the vicinity of “All Contacts” and choose Skype. You will then have to choose the contact of interest and tap Call. For the other type of call you will have to locate the Call phone tab and enter the phone number of interest or choose a number from your Motorola’s phonebook.

Samsung Android Os Upgrade

Android is a mobile platform that has become pretty popular. So, if you own a Samsung Android you should definitely make sure that you upgrade it to the latest OS version made available. That’s because each Android update release makes available new features, improvements for the capabilities already available and fixes for bugs that have been reported by users. There are actually various methods that you can use in order to get your hands on the latest Android updates for your Samsung smartphone.

Samsung Android OS Upgrade (Source: androidheadlines.com)

Samsung Android OS Upgrade (Source: androidheadlines.com)

You should first of all keep in mind that Android comes with the in-built capability of letting you know automatically what new OS updates are available for your smartphone. This capability runs in the background and makes sure it reports to you about available updates the moment they are detected. You won’t see often update messages because developers make them available for one smartphone at a time, so it takes time until all the Samsung smartphone models available are covered. You can actually compare this Android feature that we have been talking about with the Windows Update feature that you regularly use on your computer in order to keep the operating system up-to-date. So, when your Samsung Android smartphone will detect the availability of a new Android update, it will send a notification to your screen and will ask you to confirm the launch of the installation process. After you allow the update to be installed, you can check to see if the process was successful by making sure that the Android version you were told about is actually the one listed in the About section of your smartphone.

There is also the possibility to check for Android updates manually. If you want to make sure that no update you aren’t aware of is available, you should press the Home key and then the Menu button in order to become able to access the Settings section. What you will have to do next is select “About phone” and keep in mind the version and build number of the Android version currently available on your Samsung smartphone. In the next step you will have to touch the System Updates option and give the smartphone time to look for new Android updates. If an update is detected, you will be given the chance to immediately download it and then install it.

To speed up the process of finding Android updates for your Samsung Android, you should consider using an app called AnyCut. This app is useful because it creates a shortcut to “Device Info”. This app can be easily downloaded from the Android Market. After you install it, you will have to choose “Device Info” as the “Activity”.
