Android based phones are currently ruling over the smartphone market segment side by side with the Apple giant, the iPhone. While Apple has a single smartphone that seems to cover all aspects, Google and its Android OS seemed to have webbed out to just about any respectable smartphone manufacturer beginning with Motorola and Samsung and ending with HTC, Sony, Huawei and many others. Henceforth the Android OS is the most known throughout the smartphone industry.

But when it comes to the interaction between the two giants, Google and Apple, things seem to be heated and unfortunately the customers are those who have to suffer and find solutions. For instance owning a MacBook just because you like the OS more or you simply enjoy the Mac OS does not necessarily mean that you should definitely own an iPhone as well. But here is the problem, in case you’re the happy owner of a MacBook and an Android based smartphone getting them to interact with each other can be quite tricky. Naturally, the logical thing to do would be dragging and dropping the files, but since the files would be unconverted your phone will most likely be unable to detect them as usable files.

This time Samsung has really done it. The moment they’ve launched on the market the new Samsung Galaxy S2 competition just failed. Apple, HTC, Sony, Motorola everything seemed to fail in comparison. The Korean firm brought a monster on the market. The turbine like 1.2 GHz dual core processor, the high quality look and super slim chassis made it easy to understand why competition was simply blown away. The only real threat to it is the long expected iPhone 5 which is supposed to come with huge improvements and processing power.

It may not be one of the cheapest phones one the market but the 519.99 pounds giant is worth every single penny.

First of all the phone is outstandingly thin compared to other handsets on the market. We’ve known for a long time that Samsung were experts when it came to cramming up loads of powerful components in a tight spot but this is ridiculous. It’s got nearly the same size as the iPhone 4 and the Xperia Arc, and has more performance than both of them combined. It is amazingly light as well weighing 116g.

The only problem that comes with this considerable weight reduction is the fact that Samsung has relinquished completely the premium feel of a metal case. You’ll see that by simply popping the “hood” and removing the battery. Without it, it seems like a rather flimsy piece of plastic.

However, turning it around and being hit by the elegance and beauty of the superb Super AMOLED Plus screen will make you forget about all that. The huge 4.3 inch screen will blow you away with the power and brightness of its colors.

There isn’t a think this phone cannot do. It comes with what we thing is currently the strongest performance on the market, at least that’s what our benchmarks say. It is equipped with a massive processing power provided by the dual core 1.2 GHz Orion processor and no less than 2 GB of RAM memory. Hit this baby with your best shot from the Android Market, the processor won’t even flinch.

Picking the best Android phone in an ever developing market can be tricky business. We wrote  review a couple of months ago on the exact same subject. Now we had to throw it in the dumpster since not even one of the phones had made it on the new list. Well now it’s September and there were so heavy releases this summer.

Starting with the one that probably gets the closest to the title: the Samsung Galaxy S2. Samsung has really gone far in terms of integration and technology since they actually have managed to pack a ton of high tech in one of the thinnest handsets that you can find today on the market. The Galaxy S2 is the reigning champion when it comes to processing power being packed with a turbocharged 1.2 GHz dual core processor, an 8 MB camera that comes with video support in 720p and 1080p HD quality, while the images are shown on the gorgeous Super AMOLED screen. Not to mention that it has support for the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The beautiful HTC Sense interface has been remodeled to include 3D home screens into the equation as well. Everything is shows on the huge 4.3 inch screen. In terms of camera, exactly like the Galaxy S2, the HTC Sensation comes with an 8MB camera and the same video capabilities.

After the disaster that was the Xperia X10 series from Sony, they came back with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc that is probably considered to be Sony’s finest. This one comes boasting a whopping 4.2 inch screen and the Android Gingerbread on board. The LED backlit screen has always been a favorite for Sony which besides it all, it’s quite inexpensive at well since the battery remains charged even after anyone else’s has drained.

So which one do you think would suit you best? Frankly I’ll go with the Samsung every time.
